Over the last month, Trey Songz has dropped 2 mixtapes (Anticipation 2 and #Lemmeholdthatbeat2) and an EP (Inevitable). With his next studio album, Chapter 5 due next year, the RB singer sat down with ThisRNB.com and talked about the most memorable moments of his career and the importance of evolving and growing as an artist. Songz also made sure to let the world know where he believes he stands in comparison to other singers in his genre:
“I don’t know if I can say this without sounding like I love myself to death, but I think I’m the cornerstone in young RB. And I think, especially within the last month, I’ve made it evident that I plan to be that. And what I think I’ve also given myself the opportunity to do with putting so much RB into the marketplace, I think I’ve given myself the opportunity to grow…If I don’t grow I die.â€
Hmm… What do you all think? We already know what R. Kelly thinks about Mr. Songz (VIEW POST). Who agrees w/ Trey?
